cleaning candidates for its approval before the operation begins. Prepare the sewer lines to be internally inspected by cleaning the pipe walls to provide for unobstructed internal inspection. The Consultant will accomplish this cleaning by using a hydraulic cleaning unit. The Consultant guarantees that all debris, sediment and sludge removed from the sewer lines will be disposed of at a permitted site as designated by the City. When obstructions are encountered, the Consultant will attempt to clean the sewer from both upstream and downstream manholes. 1.7.2 Conduct all sanitary sewer main cleaning in accordance with the standard National Association of Sewer Service Companies ( "NASSCO ") specifications for sewer main cleaning. 1.7.3 If cleaning of the pipe segment cannot be satisfactorily accomplished after three passes of the sewer main, turn the particular segment over to the City for heavy duty cleaning, removal of roots/heavy debris, and/or removal of other obstructions as required or the City will allow this service as an additional service in accordance with Section 1.17. Any debris /sediment removed from the collection system during this operation will be disposed of by the Consultant at a location designated by City and in accordance with all state and local regulations. The cost of any traffic control equipment and /or traffic will be included in the cleaning cost except as provided in Article 2. 1.7.4 Include tabular listings of the pipe segments cleaned during this operation as well as any defects noted during the operation in the draft report identified in Task 13. 1.8 TASK 8 — SANITARY SEWER MAIN INTERNAL TELEVISION INSPECTION The Consultant will: 1.8.1 Conduct internal TV inspection, using closed circuit color television equipment, of the recommended sewer lines for leak evaluation and location of buried manholes. The Consultant will provide the City's representative with a listing of the sanitary sewer main internal inspection candidates for its approval before the operation begins. The Consultant will record the TV inspection on videotapes and DVDs. 1.8.2 Perform concurrent dyed water flooding with television inspection to verify locations of mainline defects. The Consultant will utilize field inspection log sheets to document problems and defects discovered during inspection. The Consultant will inspect the sanitary sewer main in accordance with the standard NASSCO specifications for sewer main inspection. When obstructions are encountered, the Consultant will attempt to televise the sewer line from both upstream and downstream manholes. 1.8.3 Televise approximately 5% (based on an estimated total footage of 87,968, where 5% is an estimated 4,398 linear feet) of the total footage of sewer lines in the study area. The locations of noted defects will be within the specified accuracy range of the footage counter as published by the manufacturer of the counter. Burgess and Niple, Inc.
