Diana Baker, 727 Belvin St, asked that the Council consider the Historic Preservation Committee's <br />recommendations regarding architectural standards. <br />Dianne Wassenich, 11 Tanglewood, addressed the proposed Smart Code height restrictions down <br />town, and asked that the Council really think about how this could potentially change the face of the <br />community. <br />Ron Jager, 626 W. San Antonio, addressed the fact that he does not see the word `preserve' or <br />`preservation' in the proposed SmartCode document, and asked to see clear definitions in the code <br />civic space. Civic space deserves for rules and protection that this code does not provide. <br />HC Kyle, 711 W. San Antonio, addressed the parking downtown and how he is worried the <br />SmartCode will affect it. He stated that he was worried this was a `trojan horse' and that this <br />appeared to be reducing the amount of parking required. <br />Ed Davis, address unavailable, addressed The Retreat project and asked that the Council consider <br />both sides carefully. He enjoys the students, but asked that Council consider the families involved <br />also. <br />8. Council Member Updates: <br />Receive status reports and updates from the Mayor and /or Council Members and a general <br />discussion regarding the following: <br />Mayor Guerrero — Update on the National Mayor's Conference and the National League of <br />Cities Conference. <br />Council Member Porterfield — Update on the Lone Star Rail District and the Hays Caldwell <br />Public Utility Agency. <br />Council Member Terry — Update on the CAPCOG Executive Committee. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Jones and a second by Council Member <br />Terry, the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to postpone item #8 until the next regular <br />meeting on April 5, 2011.
