Barry James, 1610 Ranch Road 12, spoke about how this project is in violation of Sector Plan 2 and . <br />was upset about the lag time between this project coming from Planning and Zoning to City Council <br />for consideration. They did not have enough time to get a petition together in opposition of this <br />project. <br />Brenda Smith, 1610 Ranch Road 12, stated that she sent an email to Council prior to the meeting, <br />and that she feels this developer knows this isn't the right fit for the project. She stated that she was <br />against this project. <br />David Jesik, 1924 Ramona Circle, spoke against the project. <br />Anita Fuller, 121 Catherine Cove, spoke in favor of the project and praised the developers. She <br />stated this is the best thing to happen to San Marcos. <br />Camille Phillips, Franklin Dr, spoke in opposition of this project and more multifamily development. <br />Robbie White, 407 Oakland Loop, stated that students will want to live here and will get them out of <br />the single family neighborhoods. He spoke in favor of the project. <br />John Williams, The Retreat, stated that they worked on the PDD for over 9 months. They had 4 <br />meetings with citizens and 6 meetings with staff. They chose not to do a regular rezone because <br />they wanted to be bound to our plan. <br />Russ Crump, The Retreat, stated that he believed they have brought a great project that is good for i <br />San Marcos. <br />There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 10:18 p.m. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Prather and a second by Council Member <br />Scott, the City Council voted (5) for and (2) opposed, Mayor Guerrero and Council Member <br />Thomason, to adopt Ordinance 2011 -09 on the first of two readings. The motion carried <br />20. 8:OOPM Public Hearing to receive comments for or against Ordinance 2011 -12 amending <br />the San Marcos Horizons City Master Plan by removing the Hughson Drive - Ramona Circle <br />connector between Craddock Avenue and Old Ranch Road 12 from the thorou hfare plan-, <br />and including procedural provisions: and consider adoption of Ordinance 2011 -12 on the first <br />of two readings. <br />At approximately 11:38 p.m. Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing. <br />Anita Fuller, 121 Catherine Cove, stated that she attended 2 meetings with the developers and <br />neighbors, and this feeder road was something they did not want. <br />Ed Theriot, address unavailable, stated that he was there to answer questions and that staff <br />recommended this change. • <br />
