<br />Sec. 14.605. Permit cancellation. <br /> <br />(a) When the holder of the permit issued under this division fails or refuses to complete work, in <br />whole or in part, the building owner, the general contractor, or the person in charge of the construction <br />on behalf of the owner may submit a written request to cancel the original permit to allow another <br />licensed contractor to secure a permit to complete the work. <br /> <br />(b) Upon receipt of a request for cancellation in accordance with section (a), the building official will <br />cancel the permit, and will notify the previous permit holder in writing of the cancellation of the <br />permit. <br /> <br />(c) Fees paid by the original permit holder will not be refunded or credited toward the cost of the <br />subsequent permit. <br /> <br />Sec. 14.606. Inspections. <br /> <br />(a) The electrical inspector will make inspections of all electrical work and will enforce all sections <br />of this article by entering any building or premises at reasonable times, after presentation of proper <br />credentials to the owner or other person in control of the building or premises. <br /> <br />(b) Where electrical work is in a dangerous or unsafe condition or is deemed to be an interference with <br />the work of the fire department, the electrical inspector or fire marshal will notify the permit holder <br />for the work to place it in a safe, secure and noninterfering condition. <br /> <br />(c) The electrical inspector will inspect electrical work after rough-in and upon final completion of <br />the work. When additional inspections are necessary, the electrical inspector will notify the permit <br />holder in writing. <br /> <br />(d) The permit holder shall schedule inspections before the day the inspection is desired. The <br />inspection will be made as soon as practical. <br /> <br />(e) No electrical work for which a visual inspection is required may be concealed in any malmer from <br />access or sight until it has been inspected and approved by the electrical inspector, and no electrical <br />work may be connected to a source of energy until the work is completed and all outlets supplied with <br />approved fixtures, devices or covers and the work has been finally approved for service. <br /> <br />(f) If the electrical work meets all the requirements of this article upon final inspection, the electrical <br />inspector will take reasonable action to allow connection of the electrical work to a source of energy <br />and will issue a written certificate of approval, upon request, to the permit holder to cover the work. <br /> <br />(g) If the electrical work fails to meet the requirements of this article, the permit holder will be notified <br />at the jobsite by the electrical inspector of the deficiencies. If the work is on premises already <br />connected to a source of energy, the permit holder will immediately take action to correct the defects <br />and call for reinspection of the work. Failure to do so may be cause, if the electrical inspector deems <br />public safety to be compromised, for an order to the serving utility to disconnect power until the <br />defects are corrected.
