<br />The number of security and corrections officer trainees to be trained at one time at the <br />SMPD training facility will be agreed upon by Gary Job Corps and SMPD prior to <br />beginning training. SMPD reserves the right to make any and all changes it feels are <br />necessary to accomplish the mission of SMPD . <br /> <br />6. SMPD reserves the right to bar any security & corrections officer trainee from its facility <br />whom is not meeting the standard of professionalism or is not fulfilling the terms of this <br />agreement. <br /> <br />7. Gary Job Corps members participating in affiliation will be treated as federal employees <br />for OWCP purposes. Therefore, liability of trainees for alleged negligence and <br />procedures for determining such liability will be governed by federal law. <br /> <br />8. In addition to other provisions of this agreement, SMPD specifically agrees to: <br /> <br />a. Make available use of firearm inventory by Gary Job Corps for the purpose of <br />training. <br /> <br />b. The Training Coordinators for Gary Job Corps and SMPD will agree to arrange <br />a schedule for use of the facility that will not interfere will the training of <br />security & corrections officer trainees of the other intended SMPD uses for the <br />facility. <br /> <br />c. SMPD will provide a space for one weapons locker to house training weapons <br />in a safe and secure area. The SMPD Training Coordinator will possess one key <br />to the Gary Job Corps weapons locker in case of emergency only. <br /> <br />d. SMPD San Marcos Police will provide one classroom for weapons class room <br />training for Gary Job Corps. <br /> <br />e. Permit three inspections of the training facility by the agencies charged with the <br />accreditation and operation of the Gary Job Corps security & corrections <br />program. Inspections will be made by the following but are not limited to, <br />TDCJ/ Institutional Division, Department of Labor (DOL) and Management and <br />Training Corporation (MTC). <br /> <br />f. Provide guidance and instruction as necessary to staff and trainees as long as the <br />instruction and guidance does not interfere with the training curriculum as <br />prescribed by TDCJ. <br /> <br />g. Make available training tools and aids where applicable for the firearms training <br />of Gary Job Corps security and corrections students. <br /> <br />9. In addition to other provisions of this agreement, Gary Job Corps specifically agrees to: <br /> <br />a. Provide the SMPD Training Coordinator with a schedule of training requiring <br />class room facilities, schedule of live fire training, list of trainees to train with <br />name(s) of instructors in charge of that particular training session. <br /> <br />b. Gary Job Corps will ensure that no more than 30 trainees will occupy training <br />space at one time in SMPD training areas. <br /> <br />c. Gary Job Corps training staff will clear all types of training to take place in <br />advance with the SMPD Training Coordinator. <br /> <br />d. Maintain accurate training records and reports available to the SMPD training <br />department staff upon request. <br />
