6. Bookmark and Share <br />Include the Bookmark and Share component which is a Web 2.0 feature that helps spread <br />content across the web. This component will make it easy for Website visitors to <br />bookmark and share City content among their favorite social destinations on the web. In <br />addition, this tool will allow Website visitors to share City content with popular social <br />networking and news sites including Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, Digg, Reddit and <br />MySpace. <br />7. Business Directory <br />Incorporate a Business Directory into the City's Website. This directory will support <br />local industry and businesses by increasing their ability to reach a national /international <br />market while at the same time making local residents more aware of them. The Business <br />Directory is an interactive index of local businesses. The directory will enable City staff <br />to post a business's name, description, location, contact information, links to their sites, <br />and, if available, a graphic (i.e. logo or photo) which will enable users to browse an <br />alphabetical listing of businesses or filter the directory based upon categories the City <br />defines. <br />8. Calendar Svstem <br />Provide an interactive calendar which can be used to improve attendance at City events <br />and meetings by making it easier for users to find the types of events important to them. <br />The calendar system will allow City staff to create calendars for any department or <br />category staff chooses. These calendars will share events, preventing duplication of <br />effort. Calendars will be implemented in a user - friendly monthly or yearly format. To <br />assist users further, the City's Website's calendars will have filtering tools that allow <br />them to find information by month, category, or even departments. This feature will <br />make it easy to locate specific information. <br />The calendar system contains a number of advanced functions including: <br />a) Recurring events function; <br />b) Automatic archiving; <br />c) Integration with e- Notification component; <br />d) Ability to create and assign filtering categories to events; <br />e) Ability to restrict use of categories to specific staff, <br />f) Ability to control which events to include on the homepage of the site; <br />g) Ability to insert calendar pages anywhere in the site navigation; <br />h) Ability to apply different calendar formats including standard monthly calendar and a <br />listing of events; <br />24 <br />Web Redesign and Content Management System <br />
