<br />of review comments, the Consultant will submit 15 copies of the Final Transportation <br />Master Plan and 50 copies of the Final Transportation Master Plan Executive Summary to <br />the City for distribution. Consultant will also submit one CD version of the Transportation <br />Master Plan in pdf format to the City for reproduction and distribution. The Consultant will <br />also submit electronic files in both pdf and MS Word format to the City. <br /> <br />1.7 TASK 6 - TRANSPORTATION DESIGN POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS AND <br />MANUAL UPDATE <br /> <br />The Consultant will: <br /> <br />1.7.1 - Desiqn Manual Update. The Consultant will evaluate the existing City of San Marcos <br />design standards and compare these with standards set out by TxDOT, American <br />Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), and the Institute of <br />Transportation Engineers (ITE). In addition, since the Consultant has worked with <br />numerous cities, a design manual comparison will be made between the various cities and <br />the City of San Marcos. From this evaluation and comparison, the Consultant will develop <br />general design policies and recommendations for the City of San Marcos. The update of <br />the design manual will be coordinated with the City's current update of the Land <br />Development Code. These policies and recommendations will take into account, but not <br />be limited to, the following items: <br /> <br />. Roadway Functional Classification; <br />. Vehicular Mix; <br />. Roadway Location; <br />. Right-of-Way Limitations; <br />. Roadway Geometric Design; <br />. Intersection Geometrics; <br />. Transit Facilities; <br />. Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities; <br />. Traffic Calming Guidelines (from Task 5.4); <br />. Traffic Signal Design; <br />. Railroad Crossings; and, <br />. Access Design and Management. <br /> <br />1.7.2 - Desiqn Manual Documentation. Prepare a technical memorandum that identifies <br />any existing substandard roadway design standards and then prepare an update to the <br />City's Roadway Design and Access manual. The report will focus on each of the items <br />listed above as well as provide recommendations concerning impacts to the surrounding <br />roadway systems and how they can be mitigated. In addition, since many of the roadways <br />within the City of San Marcos are on the Interstate and State Highway System, the <br />Consultant will give special attention to the Access Design and Management discussions <br />within the report.
