(14) MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council <br />Member Thomason, the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to approve Resolution 2011 - <br />105R, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />(15) MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Thomason and a second by Council <br />Member Terry, the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to approve Resolution 2011 - <br />106R, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />(18) MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Thomason and a second by Council <br />Member Porterfield, the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to approve Resolution 2011 - <br />109R, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />(19) MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Thomason and a second by Council <br />Member Scott, the City Council voted (7) for and (0) opposed, to approve the change in services <br />#6, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />21. 7:OOPM Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments <br />for or against Ordinance 2011 -50, approving an amendment to the Future Land Use Map <br />from "LDR" Low Density Residential to "MU" Mixed Use for 1.1 acres, more or less, of <br />land consisting of the lots located at 511, 517, 519 -525, 531 and 537 West Hopkins Street; <br />amending the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning the lots at 511, 517, 519 -525 and <br />531 West Hopkins Street from "SF -4.5" Single - Family Residential District to "MU" Mixed <br />Use District and the lot at 537 West Hopkins Street from "SF -6" Single- Family Residential <br />District to "MU" Mixed Use District; and including procedural provisions, and consider <br />approval of Ordinance 2011 -50. <br />Matthew Lewis, Development Services Director, provided Council with a brief presentation on <br />this request. <br />Following the presentation Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at approximately 7:47 <br />p.m. <br />Ryan Perkins, no address provided, is outside of the 200 feet area of the properties, but a number <br />of red flags with the entire block being proposed for a zoning change. Many of the property <br />owners say that they don't have the intent at this time so why waste the City's tune moving <br />forward with this process? There is not any planning in this process, just zoning. Traffic and <br />speed are already issues and turning left and right into properties is a concern. Home offices <br />should not be allowed; it will just lead to a domino effect. <br />Bridgette Phillips, 529 Harvey St, stated her concerns about the safety and wellbeing of their <br />children.
