Section 8: COG ADMINISTRATION S 8.01 Subject: Policy on dues and professional memberships for regional councils Reference: ACSEC internal policy created through Commission direction Source: Policy: ~ 8.02 Subject: Based on letter dated October 2, 1998 - regional council administrative budgets Funding for association memberships will be limited to one (1) membership per COG, per association. This is applicable to ail regional council's administrative budgets. Funding for additional memberships through county training budgets, or any other strategic plan component is not acceptable. However, if a local government or other entity wishes to fund additional memberships, they are free to do so. Classification, Travel Guidelines, COLAs, memberships and dues Reference: Article IX, Section 33, of the General Appropriations Act, 75tt1 Legislature Source: Policy: ~ 8.03 Subject: July 21, 1998 letter to 9-1-1 coordinators on administrative budgets As directed by Article IX, Section 33, of the General Appropriations Act, all salaries must remain within state salary classification guidelines. In addition, all in-region and out-af-region travel must operate within state guidelines except where justifiCation is provided. Commission policy statements indicated that COLA allowances are acceptable only if the applicable .salary remained within the state salary classification range. Also within the same Commission direction, association membership dues were limited to one per organization.
