Regular Meeting November 15, 2005 Page 8 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE TO ADOPT A NEW DIVISION 18 OF I ARTICLE 3 TO ESTABLISH A BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION, AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading, and Mr Guerrero seconded the motion Mayor Narvaiz inquired whether the Council wanted to incorporate the Commission in the 2006-2007 budget cycle or do an amendment to the FY2005-2006 Mr Thomaides stated he supports the Council discussing this during the Policy Workshop, but also feels funding should be provided within six months Mr Mihalkanin moved to amend Section 3 to read The Beautification Commission June 1, 2006 recommending programs, policies and activities for consideration by the City Council, and Mr Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE 2005-2006 CITY BUDGET TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE SURFACE WATER TREATMENT PLANT EXPANSION PROJECT, AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS I Mr Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading, and Diaz seconded the motion, which passed unanimously Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval to set salaries of Council appointees A City Manager Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval to set salary of the City Manager for the FY2005-2006 at $130,414 00, and Mr Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously B City Attorney Mr Taylor moved for approval to set salary of the City Attorney for FY2005-2006 at $89,970 00, and Mr Thomaides seconded the motion, which passed unanimously C Municipal Court Judge The consideration approval to set salary of Municipal Court Judge will be held after Executive Session D City Clerk Mr Thomaides moved for approval to ser salary of the City Clerk for FY2005-2006 at $59,739 00, and Mr Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously Mayor Narvaiz introduced for considerationapproval to set Council Meeting dates A Special Meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at 5 30 P m to canvass November 8, 2005 General and Special Election returns Mr Mihalkanin moved for approval to set a Special Meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at 5 30 P m to canvass November 8, 2005 General and I Special Election returns, and Mr Guerrero seconded the motion, which passed unanimously B Regular Meeting dates in December, 2005 (1)
