This program is for the sole purpose of rehabilitation, and is not to <br />be used for building additions to or superficial renovations of any structure. All <br />rehabilitation conducted must meet all State Building Codes as well as any applicable <br />City Code or Regulation. The structure must be within the city limits of San Marcos to <br />be considered eligible. <br /> <br />In an effort to insure the success of the City's Housing Rehabilitation Program and to <br />better serve the housing needs of the community, Community Development staff will: <br /> <br />1. Carryout all housing rehabilitation programs without discrimination in regard to <br />race, sex, religion, family origin, age and/or familial status. <br /> <br />2. Evaluate the housing rehabilitation program throughout the year in an effort to <br />make necessary changes in design or implementation in order to meet program goals <br />and to enable the continued success of housing rehabilitation efforts by the City. <br /> <br />3. Promote the housing rehabilitation programs through the distribution of flyers, <br />Tv and radio public service announcements, newspaper feature stories, public <br />interviews, etc....in order to maximize public awareness of the Housing Rehabilitation <br />Program. <br /> <br />4. Serve current and prospective clients in the most courteous, efficient and effective <br />manner. <br /> <br />5. Conduct continuing education and training of housing rehabilitation staff in order <br />to maintain high professional standards of performance and service. <br /> <br />6. Conduct continuing efforts in retaining competent building contractors, and in <br />capacity building of newly recruited tradesmen and contractors in order to foster <br />competition and provide the best possible builders to the Department's clients. <br /> <br />7. Analyze and develop better management information and monitoring tools <br />specifically with an effort at automating facets of program management which can <br />lead to service improvement. <br />
