Matthew Lewis, Development Services Director, provided Council with a brief presentation on this request. Following the presentation Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at approximately 8:11 p.m. Ryan Perkins, 727 W. Hopkins, thanked Staff for their hard work, and thinks that the process was done well. He's not exactly thrilled, but not totally opposed either. The applicant has worked with the neighbors well. Frank Gomillion, Lockhart, aided the applicant in the process and feels that they came a long way in this process. He asked Council for positive consideration. Robert Glaubinger, 531 W. Hopkins, owner and applicant. Mr. Glaubinger stated that he is pushing this request before overlay is put into place due to permits and licenses he has already invested in. Diana Baker, 727 Belvin, asked that the Council not approve the - rezoning request, but -is im favor or proposed professional office space. Shawn Welch, 529 Harvey, is ok with it being used for what it is, but doesn't like the broad nature of "mixed use." Bridgett Phillips, 529 Harvey, stated that she has not received a letter or email regarding talk or discussion, and is not in favor of the proposal. There being no further comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 8:18 p.m. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council Member Prather the City Council voted (6) for and (0) opposed, to approve Ordinance 2011 -65, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously. 23. Receive a Staff Presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments for or against Ordinance 2011 -66 amending the Official Zoning May of the City by rezoning a 1.966 acre, more or less, tract of land out of the J.M. Veramendl Survey No. 2. located at 1640 Aouarena Springs Drive from "GC" General Commercial District to 'IMF-2411 Multiple- Family Residential District; and including procedural provisions: and consider Ordnance 2011 -66.
