Provide listing of manholes that were located by field crews, but were not opened due to <br />deterioration of the manhole cover and ring, etc. <br />Provide listing of manholes that were buried more than 4 inches deep in grass and /or dirt or <br />more than 1 inch deep in asphalt <br />Assumptions: A maximum of 141,963 linear feet of sewer mains will be inspected without request <br />for additional compensation. ENGINEER will provide prompt notification to the City of field <br />conditions that could cause damage to persons or property. The entire collection system in the <br />study areas will be inspected during this field task and all subsequent field tasks. Weekly <br />notification to the City will be made regarding manholes that could not be located or opened. <br />Required from Others: The City will provide assistance in locating and opening existing manholes, <br />cleanouts, and access devices as required. <br />Deliverables: Electronic and hard copy deliverables provided in Task 13 — Draft Report. The report <br />will provide tabular listings of system assets and the approximate linear footage between <br />manholes, cleanouts, etc. <br />Task 3 — Below Ground Physical Inspection <br />This task consists of opening manholes, examining the interior and inspecting each sewer line <br />entering and leaving the manhole. The sewer lines will be inspected by use of manhole camera <br />designed for inspection of sewer lines from the ground surface or descending into the manhole, <br />when necessary. Photographs will be taken of the top of the manhole, the interior, and of all <br />moderate to severe defects. Information gathered during this work, including photographs, will be <br />provided to the City in electronic and hardcopy formats. <br />The following data will be recorded for each manhole inspected: <br />• Manhole identification number <br />• Construction materials and conditions of cover, ring, walls, steps, bench, and invert <br />• Manhole depth (in feet) <br />• Number and size of holes in manhole cover <br />• Infiltration sources <br />• Evidence of leaks and location <br />• Level of high water mark in the manhole, if present <br />• Type and depth of debris, if present <br />• Special problems and conditions such as: sources of inflow; evidence of overflows; <br />unauthorized bypass pipes; and manholes located in natural ponding areas, etc. <br />• Structural Defects, if any, will be noted <br />The following data will be recorded for each line segment inspected: <br />• Length, size, material and depth of pipe <br />• Root growth in pipe, if any <br />• Depth of flow <br />• Type and depth of deposition in pipe, if present <br />• Visible inflow /infiltration sources <br />• Structural condition of pipe, including joints <br />• Special problems and conditions in pipe <br />• Inspect all mainline cleanouts <br />Assumptions: A maximum of 414 manholes and mainline cleanouts will be inspected without <br />request for additional compensation.
