RFP 24-057

587 -0702

I

the accumulated suction loss is 5 inches of water column. The blower will be
properly sealed to prevent condensate leaks and will be provided with a
condensate drain connected with trap similar to paragraph 2.02.A.11 to a
sanitary sewer. Blower curves will be AMCA certified. Comply with the
requirements of specification section 11330 - Foul Air Blowers.

D.

Irrigation and humidification system: The system will include an irrigation system or
humidification system or both.

1. Irrigation system will provide water and nutrients for biological activity.
Irrigation will be automatically operated by either a timed controller or by
activation resulting from a PROPONENT determined parameter (Le., pH or
humidity controlled). If the vessel is open to the atmosphere, a rain switch
will be provided to prevent excess irrigation.
2. Humidification systems will be located and configured in a manner such that
humid air or condensate does not enter the blower.
3. Indicate in the proposal what the water requirements are for operation,
including water type (potable/non-potable) and volume in gpm.

I

E. Ammonia removal: If necessary, a separate ammonia scrubber will be provided to
reduce ammonia levels in the airstream prior to entering the biological treatment
unit. Ammonia scrubbing is required if an ammonia concentration is given in
paragraph 2.01.A and the ammonia concentration given exceeds the treatment
capacity of the biological odor treatment unit. Scrubbant for ammonia removal will
be water; chemical scrubbants are not permitted. If an ammonia scrubber is
provided, submittals will include all equations for sizing the vessel, packing, and
scrubbant flow rate.

F. Particulate removal: PROPONENT's design will consider particulates that may be
present in the airstream and will provide for their removal if equipment
performance will be hampered.

G. Ductwork and dampers incorporated into the manufactured odor control system
components will be in accordance with Sections 15892 and 15910, or will be PVC
or FRP. Subject to CITY or CITY'S representative's approval, other corrosion
resistant materials for ductwork in the manufactured odor control system
components may be utilized. The PROPONENT is responsible for supplying all
the foul air ducting and dampers from a single connection to the odor control
collection ductwork at the odor treatment system location through the outlet of the
proposed system.

2.03 ELECTRICAL, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS'

A. Electrical, instrumentation, and controls will be in accordance with Section 16010
of these specifications.

I

B.

Functional Requirements. The system will include as a minimum the following
instrumentation and controls provided on a local control panel:

11 005-1 0
