I

I

I

f) Preliminary Design drawings - Using the preliminary geotechnical engineering
report prepared by Fugro Consultants, produce drawings showing a demolition
plan of the right bank and abutment areas. REP will provide drawings showing
proposed in-stream improvements. KBR/Greenway are responsible for providing
drawings showing each of their proposed construction areas. The City will
combine all drawings into a draft Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) by
February 20, and a final PER by February 27th. The City will provide both the
draft and final PER drawings to state and federal permitting agencies as required.
The Engineer will provide an interim right bank grading plan including any
structural members necessary for stabilizing the existing retaining wall and future
improvements as required. The Engineer anticipates preparing the following
sheets:
1) Existing Base Map;
2) Demolition Plan - for dam, right bank retaining wall, and park pavilion;
3) Erosion Control Map and Details
4) Interim Grading Plan and Cross Sections - showing right bank grading to
stabilize area after removal of retaining walls and pavilion and to provide
access to the in-stream contractor. Final grading and amenities will not be
included at this time,
4) Hydraulic Plan and Profile of San Marcos River - showing hydraulic
cross-section location with 100-year floodplain and stream profile
showing channel invert, cross-section location and flood profile levels;
5) Proposed Plan View Map showing improvements with construction limit
line, staging areas for equipment and material storage. The Engineer and
REP will work with general contractor(s) to produce this drawing.
g) Proposed Hydrologic and Hydraulic Model- prepare hydraulic model to address
the channel condition of no rise allowed for the 100-year flood event in the San Marcos
River including a tabulation of existing and proposed project condition water surface
elevations. Develop 10, 50, 100 and 500-year flood profiles.
h) Probable Cost Estimate - A probable cost estimate for the demolition and interim
grading plan will be provided.

1.2.6 Provide deliverables in the form of a preliminary engineering report which documents all
the above items in a comprehensive report with appendices for geo-tech report and hydraulic
models to be incorporated in the City's PER. The PER will be compatible with the Preliminary
Design Drawings.

1.3 TASK 2 - FINAL DESIGN

The Engineer will:

1.3.1 After review by the City and Contractor of the Preliminary Design Drawings revise and
submit ten (10) sets of sealed construction drawings and technical specifications..
