<br />106 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />august 25, 1980 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />Council agreed that the provisions stated should be complied with when <br />the development proceeds. Mr. Stokes seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on third and final <br />reading having the following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, <br />AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING <br />OF BLOCK 1, LOTS 2,3,4,5, AND 6 OF THE W.S. SMITH ADDITION, <br />(FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE ATTACHED "EXHIBIT <br />A") LOCATED AT 736 SMITH AVE. FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) <br />TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes moved for the adoption of the Ordinance on third reading, <br />noting the considerations presented by the applicant as described in <br />the preceding action. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading <br />having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, <br />AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING <br />OF BLOCK 1, PART OF LOT 8 OF THE FAIRLAWN ADDITION, LOCATED <br />ON CREPE MYRTLE, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO <br />"c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mrs. <br />Norris seconded the motion. On roll call, the folllowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Cavazos, Kraus, Norris, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: James <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading <br />having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING <br />20.91 ACRES LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION <br />OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES <br />AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes asked that the Public Works Dept. provide Council with an <br />updated report on the utilities for this property before the third and <br />final reading. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on second <br />reading. Mr. Jam~s seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a request for a temporary trailer <br />permit to locate a mobile home on the rear half of Lot 76, A.M. Ramsey <br />Addition, at 220 Third St. by Pete Islas. Mrs. Norris moved to approve <br />the request. Mr. James seconded the motion. On roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Cavazos <br />
