The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on third and final reading having the following caption: I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCK 1, LOTS 2,3,4,5, AND 6 OF THE W.S. SMITH ADDITION, (FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE ATTACHED "EXHIBIT A") LOCATED AT 736 SMITH AVE. FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. Stokes moved for the adoption of the Ordinance on third reading, noting the considerations presented by the applicant as described in the preceding action. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion. On roll call, the folllowing vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Cavazos, Kraus, Norris, Stokes NAY: None ABSTAIN: James The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading having the following caption: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 20.91 ACRES LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Stokes asked that the Public Works Dept. provide Council with an updated report on the utilities for this property before the third and final reading. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Jam~s seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
