The City Manager reminded the Council that the Community Development funds originally allocated for main lift station repairs and approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development had been later disapproved by HUD. He recommended that $90,000 of those funds be reallocated to pay for the City's share of the EPA SSES. HUD has approved the reallocation. Mr. James moved to approve the request. Mr. Stokes seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution having the following caption: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES BETWEEN SAID CITY AND FREESE AND NICHOLS, INC. FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE PREPARATION OF A WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM ANALYSIS FOR SAID CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. FOR THE PROVISION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE REVISION OF EXISTING GRID MAPS AND THE PREPARATION OF WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM GRID MAPS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The City Manager recommended that just as the last two items, $37,964 should be reallocated from the main lift station appropriation. Mr. Stokes made a motion to table this item as it cannot be completed till the above item #12-B is finished and would also like to see how much in-house staff capability could be built up to do this work. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion. On the motion to table this item, the following vote was recorded: NAY: Cavazos, James, Kraus I AYE: Brown, Norris, Stokes The motion failed. On the motion to adopt the Resolution, the vote was for unanimous approval.
