<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />During the season in which bluebonnets blossom, the <br />flowers shall not be mowed until the seeds have dropped. <br /> <br />B. Edging Sidewalks and Other Paved Areas - All sidewalk- <br />turf edges shall be edged to insure a clean appearance <br />and shall be maintained level with the height of the <br />surrounding turf. This standard will also include <br />all flush paved areas such as drives, walkways, and <br />any other concreted areas. <br /> <br />c. Edging Headstones - All headstones areas are to be <br />trimmed to maintain the height of the surrounding <br />turf. <br /> <br />D. Other Edging - All other turf edges such as those at <br />shrub beds, flower beds, around "in lawn" trees, curb <br />sides, etc., shall be edged as necessary to maintain <br />the required clean appearance, even with the fine cut <br />height. <br /> <br />E. Irrigation - All turf areas shall be watered as needed <br />to maintain a uniform healthy growth pattern. Water <br />shall be applied so that the grass retains a normal <br />green color. Where possible (over major areas) soil <br />surface in -turf areas shall be permitted to dry out <br />between waterings. Care must also be taken not to <br />over water or "water-log" any area. Trees and other <br />plants shall be protected from over watering and <br />runoff drowning. No irrigation will be required where <br />water pressure drops below forty (40) psi or where <br />more than two hundred (200) feet of hose are required. <br /> <br />VIII. <br />Turf Care - Rough Cut <br /> <br />This work shall include all materials, equipment, supplies <br />and services necessary to maintain in a safe condition all fringe <br />or rough areas, approximately ten (lO) acres. All rough areas are <br />to be mowed at a height of four (4) inches and not allowed to <br />exceed eight (8) inches between mowings. Fences are to be kept <br />free of small trees and brush as needed to prevent damage to the <br />fences and provide reasonable fire safety. <br /> <br />Other provisions include: <br /> <br />A. The Contractor may recommend removal of any shrub he <br />feels is beyond renovation, but removal shall occur <br />only after City approval. <br /> <br />B. All other procedures or operations not outlined will <br />be negotiated separately. <br /> <br />c. The Contractor shall have the right to use herbicides <br />as necessary to reduce trimming and mowing, after <br />first obtaining City approval. <br /> <br />IX. <br /> <br />City agrees that Contractor is to furnish only normal and <br />daily maintenance pursuant to this agreement and Contractor is not <br />obligated hereby to provide extraordinary maintenance required by <br />Acts of God. <br />
