<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />33 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />october 13, 1980 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a public hearing on annexation of <br />four tracts of land. No comments were received on Tracts 1, 2 or 3. On <br />Tract 4, Mr. Grover Williams stated that he did not understand why the <br />City would annex farmlqnd. The City Manager stated that that particular <br />tract of land was being annexed to insure a clear zone for the new <br />Instrument Landing System (ILS) being installed at the Airport. Mr. <br />Williams stated that he was opposed to annexation of farmland unless it <br />was to be developed. Mr. Tarbutton stated that he felt Mrs. Patterson <br />should be notified of the proposed annexation of her property. Mr. Stokes <br />stated that the annexation was obligating the Council to enter inDo <br />a bond program. The Mayor then closed the public hearing. Mayor Kraus <br />announced that first readings of the annexation Ordinances would be held <br />on October 27th. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration extension of utilities to the <br />Mott property located on Wonder World Drive (Redwood Road). The Mayor <br />stated that he would agree to this extension since the property was to <br />be annexed in the future. Mr. James stated that he would like to wait <br />on the extension until the property was finally annexed. Mr. Stokes moved <br />to approve the utility service request. Mr. Tarbutton seconded the motion. <br />On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Cavazos, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton <br /> <br />NAY: James <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration payment of retainage on the cemetery <br />maintenance contract for last year to A&A Lawn and Landscaping. Mrs. <br />Norris moved to pay the retainage. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a request for a temporary trailer <br />permit to locate a mobile home on part of Lot 8 and part of Lot 9 of the <br />Lindsey-Harvey Addition, located at 515 Harvey by Mr. Fred Gauna. The <br />City Manager stated that this was the last permit request to come before <br />the Council. The rest would go to P&Z and would only come before Council <br />on appeal. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended denial and there <br />was opposition from the neighbors. The staff also stated that there wer~ <br />no other mobile homes in the area. Mr. James moved to deny the request'- <br />~1rs. Norris seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Cavazos <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization to bid a copier <br />machine. Mr. Cavazos moved to authorize the bid. Mrs. Norris seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The ~layor introduced for consideration two Resolutions having the <br />following captions: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, TEXAS, <br />REQUESTING THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANS- <br />PORTATION RELOCATE THE PRESENT EXIT ~lP FROM INTERSTATE HIGID~AY <br />35 TO STATE HIGm~AY 123 TO A SITE NORTH OF C.M. ALLEN PARKWAY IN <br />SAID CITY; DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO TRANSMIT THIS RESOLUTION <br />TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, TEXAS, <br />REQUESTING THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHNAYS AND PUBLIC TRANS- <br />PORTATION RELOCATE THE PRESENT EXIT RAJ\lP FROM INTERSTATE HIGHWAY <br />35 TO STATE HIGHT~AY 123 TO A SITE NORTH OF C.M.
