I I I 33 regular meeting october 13, 1980 page three The Mayor introduced for consideration a public hearing on annexation of four tracts of land. No comments were received on Tracts 1, 2 or 3. On Tract 4, Mr. Grover Williams stated that he did not understand why the City would annex farmlqnd. The City Manager stated that that particular tract of land was being annexed to insure a clear zone for the new Instrument Landing System (ILS) being installed at the Airport. Mr. Williams stated that he was opposed to annexation of farmland unless it was to be developed. Mr. Tarbutton stated that he felt Mrs. Patterson should be notified of the proposed annexation of her property. Mr. Stokes stated that the annexation was obligating the Council to enter inDo a bond program. The Mayor then closed the public hearing. Mayor Kraus announced that first readings of the annexation Ordinances would be held on October 27th. The Mayor introduced for consideration extension of utilities to the Mott property located on Wonder World Drive (Redwood Road). The Mayor stated that he would agree to this extension since the property was to be annexed in the future. Mr. James stated that he would like to wait on the extension until the property was finally annexed. Mr. Stokes moved to approve the utility service request. Mr. Tarbutton seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Cavazos, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton NAY: James The Mayor introduced for consideration payment of retainage on the cemetery maintenance contract for last year to A&A Lawn and Landscaping. Mrs. Norris moved to pay the retainage. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration a request for a temporary trailer permit to locate a mobile home on part of Lot 8 and part of Lot 9 of the Lindsey-Harvey Addition, located at 515 Harvey by Mr. Fred Gauna. The City Manager stated that this was the last permit request to come before the Council. The rest would go to P&Z and would only come before Council on appeal. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended denial and there was opposition from the neighbors. The staff also stated that there wer~ no other mobile homes in the area. Mr. James moved to deny the request'- ~1rs. Norris seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, James, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton NAY: None ABSTAIN: Cavazos The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization to bid a copier machine. Mr. Cavazos moved to authorize the bid. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The ~layor introduced for consideration two Resolutions having the following captions: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, TEXAS, REQUESTING THAT THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANS- PORTATION RELOCATE THE PRESENT EXIT ~lP FROM INTERSTATE HIGID~AY 35 TO STATE HIGm~AY 123 TO A SITE NORTH OF C.M. ALLEN PARKWAY IN SAID CITY; DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO TRANSMIT THIS RESOLUTION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
