<br />67 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />november 24, 1980 <br /> <br />~ <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration appointment to the Master <br />Plan Committee. Mrs. Norris moved that Handler Smith be appointed. <br />Mr. Stokes seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration award of a bid for the Spring <br />Lake Pump Station Rehabilitation. Mrs. Norris moved to award the <br />bid to Jim Winn Iron Works in the amount of $20,479. Mr. Stokes <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration award of a bid for the L.B.' <br />Drive Relief Main. Mr. Stokes moved to award the bid to Du-Mor <br />Enterprises in the amount of $9,983.74. Mr. James seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Williams stated that there was approximately $39,000 available <br />in Revenue Sharing funds #9 and #11 for the Spring Lake Pump Station <br />and $15,000 available in Revenue Sharing funds #6 and #9 for the L.B.J. <br />Drive Relief Main. ~1r. Cavazos moved to approve the transfer of the <br />Revenue Sharing funds to cover the two projects. Mrs. Norris seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration award of a bid for the sale <br />of the Guadalupe Street City Hall. Mrs. Norris moved to award the <br />bid to MLM Investments in the amount of $71,961.38. Mr. Stokes <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration award of a bid for the demolition <br />of Guadalupe Street City Hall Annex Building. Mr. Tarbutton moved <br />to award the bid to Jones Demolition in the amount of $8,730. Mrs. <br />Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency <br />read in its entirety having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, I <br />TEXAS, AMENDING ORD INANCE 1980 - 3 7, ADOPTED SEPTE~mER 8, 1980, <br />WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSES OF <br />CONDUCTING THE rlUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1980 AND ENDING SE~TEMBER <br />30, 1981, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUCH <br />ESTIMATE, TO INCREASE THE REVENUE ACCOUNT AND TO APPROPRIATE <br />MONEY FOR THE DEMOLITION OF OLD CITY HALL, THE EMERGENCY <br />MEDICAL SERVICES AND CONTINGENCIES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />The Mayor reviewed six items which were agreed on by the hospital, <br />county and city. A copy of that report is attached and made a part <br />of these minutes. Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Ordinance on <br />emergency. Mr. Tarbutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The City Manager reported to Council that the unencumbered balance <br />in the contingency fund was approximately $57,000. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading, <br />the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, DEDICATING 40.85 ACRES IN CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS <br />FOR PARK AND RECREATIONAL RELATED PURPOSES AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr.1 <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading. <br />James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration on Ordinance on second reading, <br />the caption of which was read as follows: <br />
