McGehee <br />Addition, from "R-l" (Single Family Residential) to "TH" (Townhouse). <br />This item was withdrawn at the request of the applicant. No one <br />wished to speak either for or against the zoning change request. <br />Mr. Stokes moved to continue the public hearing until recommendations <br />received from the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a public hearing on a ' <br />proposed zoning change of 4.01 acres out of the T.J. Tom Allen <br />spoke against the proposed zoning change. <br /> <br />The Mayor stated that item #10, a petition for disannexation <br />from the Fairlawn Addition had been withdrawn. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a report prepared by City consultants on the <br />location of the proposed fire substation. Craig Farmer and Randy <br />Hankamer, from Freese & Nichols, made a presentation on the alternate <br />locations. Mr. Stokes moved to accept alternative 3-A and to locate <br />the station near the City limits and S.H. 123. Mr. Cavazos seconded <br />the motion. On roll cal~, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Cavazos, Kraus, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton <br /> <br />NAY: James <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration utilities extension policy <br />with regard to temporary mobile homes. Mr. Stokes moved to exclude <br />temporary mobile homes in the utility extension policy. The City <br />subsidy would apply only to new construction. Mrs. Norris seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. I <br /> <br />The Hayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency <br />read in its entirety having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN r~RCOS, TEXAS, ZONING <br />FOR TRAFFIC AND RATE OF SPEED THEREIN, ON INTERSTATE <br />HIGHWAY 35 ACCESS ROADS IN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS; DEFINING SPEEDING AND FIXING A PENALTY <br />THEREFOR; DECLARING WHAT rffiY BE A SUFFICIENT COMPLAINT IN <br />PROSECUTIONS HEREUNDER; WITH A SAVING CLAUSE REPEALING <br />CONFLICTING LAWS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />r1r. James moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency. Mr. Tarbutton <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a Resolution suspending <br />operation of proposed rate schedules by LCRA, the caption of which <br />was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN rffiRCOS, TEXAS, SUSPENDING <br />THE OPERATION OF PROPOSED RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY LOWER <br />COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY <br />(120) DAYS BEYOND DECEMBER 5, 1980, THE DATE ON 1~7HICH SUCH <br />SCHEDULES WOULD OTHERWISE GO INTO EFFECT. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. ~1r. Cavazos seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration retaining Don Butler to <br />represent the interest of the City in request by LCRA for rate <br />increase for electric service. Mr. Cavazos moved to retain the <br />services of Don Butler. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />
