CITY OF SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC RULES AND REGULATIONS
specifically stated in the applicable rate schedule, shall be due and
payable at the time of discontinuance of service.
(2) In cases of meter tampering or bypassing of meter, electric energy
consumed, but not metered, may be estimated by the city based on
amounts used under similar conditions, or by other methods as approved
by the city.
(3) The city may charge for all labor, material and equipment necessary to
repair or replace all equipment damaged due to meter tampering or
bypassing of meter.
E. Service may also be discontinued for the following reasons:
(1) Failure to pay a delinquent account;
(2) Violation of the city's rules pertaining to the use of service in a manner
which interferes with the service of others or the operation of non-
standard equipment, if a reasonable attempt has been made to notify the
manner and the customer is provided with a reasonable opportunity to
remedy the situation;
(3) Failure to comply with deposit requirements;
(4) Without notice where a known dangerous condition exists for as long as
the condition exists; and
(5) Without notice for tampering with the City's meter or equipment or
bypassing the same.
F. Disconnection Service Charge
When service has been discontinued under the provision of these Rules and
Regulations, a charge for reconnection during regular business hours of $20.00, or
such amount as may be established from time to time based on the city's
experienced cost of providing similar service, shall be made.
If the reconnection is made at a time other than regular business hours at the
customer's request, a charge commensurate with the extra cost of the
reconnection will be added to the regularly established reconnection charge.
DISPUTED BILLS
When a customer believes that the amount of any bill rendered by the city for service of
electricity is in error, the customer should:
(1) request an explanation of the bill from the electric utility office of the city
and if this does not resolve the matter,
(2) request, in writing, an investigation of the matter, setting forth all
information relative to the dispute.
0
