(pSI) is pleased to submit the <br />following proposal to perform a subsurface exploration and geotechnical investigation for the <br />proposed Holland Street Reconstruction project. The subsurface exploration will be conducted to <br />identify the current state of the existing pavement, possible causes of the existing pavement's <br />distress, the existing soil and groundwater conditions at the site, and to provide information <br />needed for the design of a cost effective pavement system for the proposed roadway. <br /> <br />We understand that Holland Street is approximately 4300 feet long, and is currently <br />experiencing distress and cracking. A reconstruction the existing roadway is planned. It is <br />understood that the pavement will need to be designed in accordance with the City of Austin/City <br />of San Marcos Specifications for a 20 year design life. <br /> <br />Our Scope of Services to perform a subsurface exploration and geotechnical investigation <br />for the subject project will include the following services: <br /> <br />· Sample and test the subsurface materials and observe groundwater conditions <br />along Holland Street by means of performing soil test borings. <br /> <br />· Identify the physical and engineering characteristics of subsurface materials <br />encountered during the sampling through a laboratory testing program. <br /> <br />· Determine possible causes of the distress currently being experienced by the <br />existing roadway. <br /> <br />Professional Service Industnes, Inc. . 8868 Research Boulevard, Suite 102 .
