<br />Archeo logical Services Proposaf <br /> <br />Spring Lake Waterline <br /> <br />removal in measured increments of 5 em levels. Soils shall be screened through 1/4 inch <br />wire mesh and all cultural materials recovered will be analyzed. <br /> <br />All units excavated by AP&C or their representative shall conform to OSHA and Texas <br />Trench Safety Act standards. All units wilj be backfilled by the City of San Marcos upon <br />completion of investigations. Open excavation units shall be covered land or barricaded <br />daily during the investigation with safety materials provided by the City of San Marcos. <br />Back dirt from the excavation will be returned to the test units and excavation block by <br />equipment and operators provided by the City of San Marcos and re-sodded with grass <br />by the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />Site 41 HY37 Data Recovery <br />AP&C shall dig one 2x2 meter block unit to 6 feet (2.4 meters) deep or the bottom of any <br />cultural feature encountered at 6 feet deep at site 41 HY37 to determ ine the presence or <br />absence of significant deposits. <br /> <br />Artifact locations shall be piece-plotted and point-provenienced. Artifact locations shall <br />be plotted on level forms. Features will be drawn in a floor plan for each level excavated. <br />After mapping, features will be exam ined by cross-section and removal in measured <br />increments and 5 em levels. Special samples of feature till may be collected tor tine <br />screening with water through 1/6th-inch hardware mesh, as necessary. A 50 x 50 em <br />colum n shall be excavated in the northwest quadrant of the 2x2m unit in controlled 1 Q-em <br />levels. Column soils shall be screened through 1/16 Inch wire mesh to include recovery <br />of microbotanical materials present, if any. <br /> <br />All units excavated by AP&C or their representative shall conform to OSHA and Texas <br />Trench Safety Act standards. The study will provide a geomorphic context to evaluate any sensitive deposits <br />found and comparative data for site and 41HY37. Unit stratigraphic profiles will be drawn, <br />measured, and photo-documented before backfilling. <br /> <br />Artifact and feature recordation, documentation, and assessment <br />Artifact locations shall be piece-plotted and point-provenienced.
