1.0.6 Jeff Jorgenson, DVM is the representative and point of contact for all communication related to this Agreement. The Veterinarian will not substitute another representative for this Project unless approved in writing by the City in advance of such proposed substitution. In the event the City and the Veterinarian cannot agree to the substitution of the representative, the City may terminate this agreement in accordance with Article 7. 1.1 BASIC SERVICES The Veterinarian will: 1.1.1 Provide services at the Shelter located at 750 River Road, San Marcos, Texas, 78666 for a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week at least three (3) days per week. In addition, the Veterinarian will maintain its place of business within a reasonable distance from the Shelter for the duration of this Agreement. 1.1.2 Provide Services on an "on- call" basis twenty -four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week for emergency consultation and occasional treatment as needed. 1.1.3 Within six months from the effective date of this Agreement, establish and adhere to written protocols for: a) administering drugs and vaccines; b) the provision of basic intake exams; c) surgery, d) anesthesia e) shelter health and safety, f) handling heartworm positive dogs; and g) training and utilization of veterinary technicians; 1.1.4 Develop preferred practices and protocols and properly train designated City staff to conduct basic intake exams and administer vaccines under the Veterinarian's supervision and direction. 1.1.5 Provide spay /neuter services as follows: a) Spay /neuter all adoptable shelter animals as directed by City staff. 1) Perform a pre- surgery examination (other procedures such as blood work to be included as needed); 2) Administer pre- surgery analgesics; 3) Administer anesthesia; 4) Perform surgery; 5) Monitor recovery post surgery; 2
