1.0.6 Jeff Jorgenson, DVM is the representative and point of contact for all communication <br />related to this Agreement. The Veterinarian will not substitute another representative for this <br />Project unless approved in writing by the City in advance of such proposed substitution. In the <br />event the City and the Veterinarian cannot agree to the substitution of the representative, the City <br />may terminate this agreement in accordance with Article 7. <br />1.1 BASIC SERVICES <br />The Veterinarian will: <br />1.1.1 Provide services at the Shelter located at 750 River Road, San Marcos, Texas, 78666 for <br />a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week at least three (3) days per week. In addition, the <br />Veterinarian will maintain its place of business within a reasonable distance from the Shelter for <br />the duration of this Agreement. <br />1.1.2 Provide Services on an "on- call" basis twenty -four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a <br />week for emergency consultation and occasional treatment as needed. <br />1.1.3 Within six months from the effective date of this Agreement, establish and adhere to <br />written protocols for: <br />a) administering drugs and vaccines; <br />b) the provision of basic intake exams; <br />c) surgery, <br />d) anesthesia <br />e) shelter health and safety, <br />f) handling heartworm positive dogs; and <br />g) training and utilization of veterinary technicians; <br />1.1.4 Develop preferred practices and protocols and properly train designated City staff to <br />conduct basic intake exams and administer vaccines under the Veterinarian's supervision and <br />direction. <br />1.1.5 Provide spay /neuter services as follows: <br />a) Spay /neuter all adoptable shelter animals as directed by City staff. <br />1) Perform a pre- surgery examination (other procedures such as blood work to be <br />included as needed); <br />2) Administer pre- surgery analgesics; <br />3) Administer anesthesia; <br />4) Perform surgery; <br />5) Monitor recovery post surgery; <br />2 <br />
