1.1.10 Be available to serve as an expert witness and provide court testimony if requested by the <br />City; <br />a) Perform necropsies, at a separate veterinary facility, on animals as necessary and <br />document results for possible court prosecution; <br />b) Provide a complete veterinary exam including blood workup and radiographs as <br />needed. <br />b) Observe and report medical signs of neglect and/or cruelty to animals and make <br />recommendations to the City and prepare abuse reports for the City's Legal <br />Department as requested. <br />1.1.11 Provide limited care of wild animals at the Shelter, at the City's request; <br />1.1.12 Serve on the Animal Shelter Advisory Board which meets a minimum of every four <br />months; <br />1.1.13 Inspect the Shelter yearly for compliance with Texas Health and Safety Code, Section <br />826; and <br />1.1.14. Ensure that its provision of the proper treatment for sick and/or injured animals in the <br />care /custody of the Shelter is a priority. <br />1.1.15 Enter surgical notes and vaccination information in the City's existing computer system <br />as procedures are performed. Include in these entries, quarantine release information. <br />1.1.16 Purchase controlled drugs to be kept at Shelter under its license on behalf of the City and <br />be responsible for prescribing tranquilizers that are issued to the euthanasia technicians and/or <br />animal control officers certified in euthanasia for the purpose of sedation of an animal in need. <br />1.2 ADDITIONAL SERVICES /CHANGE IN SERVICES <br />1.2.1 The City may direct the Veterinarian to perform services outside of the scope of the Basic <br />Services described in Sections 1.1 above. The Veterinarian will submit a written estimate of fees <br />to the City and obtain the City's authorization before initiating any additional services. <br />1.2.2 Each material change (deletion or addition) in the services to be provided by the <br />Veterinarian must be authorized by the City on the Authorization of Change in Services form <br />attached to this Agreement as Attachment A. Compensation for additional services will be in <br />addition to that specified for Basic Services in accordance with Article 13 of this Agreement. <br />The approval of the San Marcos City Council is necessary for all additional services the <br />compensation for which exceeds $50,000.00. <br />11 <br />
