Mr. Taylor stated this ordinance incorporates <br />amendments requested by the Area Chamber. He stated in general, the <br />amendments place more authority and responsibility in the Chamber Board for <br />administration of the Tourism Services contract, and place the CVB Board <br />into a more advisory role. He also stated the composition of the CVB Board <br />is proposed to increase from 11 to 13 voting members, with the Chamber <br />Board Chair and a second outlet mall representative being added, and other <br />changes in the wording of positions. Mr. Jones inquired to the change of <br />the wording from owner/operator positions to owner/general manager or <br />senior management. Mayor Narvaiz stated these changes will allow a local <br />representative to serve, since some owners reside in other locations. Mr. <br />Thomaides thanked the Chamber of Commerce for requesting a second outlet <br />representative. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING DIVISION 18, SECTION 2.366, ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE, OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES. <br /> <br />I Mr. Guerrero moved for approval of Ordinance on first reading, and Mr. <br />Mihalkanin seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council approved <br />the agreement with Hays County and the City of Kyle for Animal Services. <br />He stated this Ordinance is to amend the Advisory Committee to include a <br />representative from Hays County and the City of Kyle. The Council then <br />voted unanimously for approval of Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of Resolution, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT FOR RECYCLING CENTER AND <br />CITY FACILITIES RECYCLING COLLECTION BETWEEN THE CITY AND GREEN GUY <br />RECYCLING SERVICES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS <br />AMENDMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Diaz seconded the <br />motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council approved the Ordinance increasing <br />the monthly rate for Recycling Services. He stated this Resolution is to <br />amend the contract.
