General powers and duties. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />terms. <br /> <br />(a) The convention and visitors bureau advisory board will advise and provide <br />oversight for contracts between the city and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce <br />for programs for the promotion of tourism within the city. <br /> <br />(b) The advisory board will: <br /> <br />(1) Be responsible for developing and making a recommendation to the Board <br />of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce for approval of the proposed annual <br />budget for tourism promotion progran~s before the Chamber Board makes and making a <br />recommendation on the budget to the city council. <br /> <br />(2) Monitor expenditures of tourism promotion funds provided to the San <br />Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce by the City for conformity to the budget, and make <br />recommendations to the Board of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce on <br />amendments to the budget. <br /> <br />(3) Monitor the performance of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce <br />in conducting tourism promotion programs under contracts with the city. <br /> <br />(4) Advise the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce as to the hiring and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />2 <br />
