Service Types Information <br />Service Types: <br />San Marcos requires the following service for billing & collecting; Electric Water Sewer <br />Refuse Re-cycle Drainage and Tax <br /> <br />Priority to Apply Cash <br />San Marcos would like payments to apply in the following order; <br /> 1. Taxes (sequential) <br /> 2. Outstanding arrears (proportional) <br /> 3. Current Balance (proportional) <br /> Issue - Cm~cently PUBs does not offer the option to apply cash sequential to some <br /> services and the remaining services proportionally <br /> Suggested Solution - apply cash sequential by service using option 4-BPI. Payments <br /> will be applied in the following order; <br /> 1. Overdue Balance sequentially by service <br /> 2. Penalty Balance sequentially by service <br /> 3. Interest Balance - not applicable <br /> 4. Current Balance sequentially by service <br /> A separate "Tax" service will be required to ensure cash is applied to tax related <br /> charges first. <br /> <br />Occupancy Charge <br />Electric and Water services are each assessed a $20.00 set-up charge on First Bills. <br />Accounts with no electric or water service are not assessed a set-up fee. This charge can <br />be accommodated using either the Occupancy Charge field in the Service Information <br />screen or by attaching the fee to Move-In service orders. <br /> <br />Disconnection / Reconnection Fees <br />San Marcos does not have a fee associated with collections or disconnections. Accounts <br />are assessed a Reconnection Fee when service is restored. This fee varies depending on <br />whether the service is restored during or after office hours. Recounection fees can be <br />assessed at the time of recounection using the Extra Charge Journal or attached to the <br />reco~mection service order which will add the charge to the customer's next bill. <br /> <br />NSF Charge <br />San Marcos applies a $15.00 NSF charge to accounts with returned checks. The charge is <br />split evenly between Electric and Water where both services exist. <br /> Issue - Currently PUBs can be set-up to assess a fee to each of the electric and <br /> water services but will not combine those fees in the event that one of the two <br /> services does not exist. <br /> Suggested Solution - Set the NSF Charge amount of $7.50 in both the Electric <br /> and Water Service Information screens as the default amounts to be applied to <br /> NSF checks. In the event the account has only one of the services the default <br /> amount cm~ be increased to assess the full charge. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
