1.5.2 The Coutractor will develop and implement tile Public Outreach/Education Program related to its <br />solid waste collection and disposal activities as described in the attached Exhibit A. A scbedule detailing <br />all activities of this program for the following year will be submitted to the Director for review and <br />approval at least I5 days prior to beginning work, and aanually thereafter. The Contractor will continue <br />program development and ilnplementatiou throughout the term of the Coatmct. The Contractor will <br />schedule quarterly meetings with the City staffto review and evaluate the program's effectiveness. <br /> <br />1.5.3 Tile Contractor will pay all costs of the public information program. <br /> <br />1.5.4 The Contractor will make every reasonable effort to serve tbe customers regardless of errors in <br />customer materials preparation or placement. The Coutractor will aotify the City of repeated or gross <br />mistakes on the part of tbe customers. The City will take such actions or implement such procedures as <br />are reasonably necessary to ensure compliance by its resideuts with the provisions of this Contract. <br /> <br />1.5.5 Tile Contractor will develop and distribute literature to iuform affected customers on ali aspects of <br />the collection services, which wilI include but not be limited to, days of service, materials to be recycled, <br />method of preparation required, aad placement of coutainers for collection. The Contractor will submit <br />all educational literature to the City for its approval prior to distributing it to customers. <br /> <br />1.5.6 The Contractor will provide a written report to the City on all quarterly basis oil the uature and <br />extent of the public information program. <br /> <br />1.5.7 Tile Contractor will make available to public schools educational materials regarding tile <br />Contractor's residential recycling program. <br /> <br />1.5.8 The Contractor will place a label oll each cart provided to residential units identifyiug the <br />Coutractor as the owner of the cart aud providing information on collection procedures, including time <br />period requirements for placemeot and removal of carts fi'om curbside. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE 2 <br />THE CITY'S RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Section 2.1 <br /> <br />The City will desiguate the Director to act as the City's authorized representative with respect to this <br />Coatract. <br /> <br />Section 2.2 <br /> <br />The City will assist the Contractor in encouraging customers to comply with the City's solid waste <br />regulations by providing instruction, public service coutact, aud informational materials. The City will <br />contact customers who violate the regulations as the need arises. <br /> <br />Section 2.3 <br /> <br />The City will beat' all costs iacident to tbis Article. <br /> <br />Section 2.4 <br /> <br />The City will submit statemeuts to and collect from all residential units for residential solid waste services <br />provided by the Contractor under this Coutract, iacludiug those accounts tbat are delinquent. <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> <br />
