1.2.6 Submit design documents to the City at intervals appropriate to the design process
for purposes of evaluation and approval by the City. The Consultant may rely on approvals
received from the City in the further development of the design.
Evaluation of the Cost of Project and Scheduling

1.2.7 The Consultant will prepare a preliminary estimate of the cost of the Project when
the Project requirements have been sufficiently identified. This estimate may be based on
current area, volume or similar conceptual estimating techniques. As the design process
progresses through the end of the preparation of the construction documents, the
Consultant will update and refine the preliminary estimate of the cost of the Project. The
Consultant will advise the City of any adjustments to previous estimates of the cost of the
Project indicated by changes in Project requirements or general market conditions.
1.2.8 When Project requirements have been sufficiently identified, the Consultant will
prepare, and periodically update, a project schedule that will identify milestone dates for
decisions required of the City, design services furnished by the Consultant, completion of
documentation provided by the Consultant, commencement of construction and
Substantial Completion of the Project.
Phase I Survey

1.2.9 The Consultant will inspect the existing construction for Phase I of the Project and
prepare a report assessing existing conditions and recommending corrective measures or
improvemènts.
Site Survey

1.2.10 The Consultant will engage the services of a consultant to provide survey and
documentation services as outlined below:
LBJ Street - Phase II
(a) Receive the computer file for the existing topographic survey of LB.J.
Drive. Enlarge the scale to 1" = 3' and edit the data to show points of
field elevation.
(b) Field check the data prepared and supplement topographic data to
the center line of the street and provide additional elevations at
entrances to the buildings to assist in determining grades at the
buildings.
@ Tie the curb across the street adjacent to the Court House if it is
constructed during this work.
(d) Extend the topographic survey for LB.J. Drive for
approximately 50 feet south of the intersection with San
3
