Regular Meeting April 17, 2007 Page 11 <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing and consideration of adoption <br />Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAROCS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FROM "VLDR" VERY LOW <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL, FOR A 76.06 ACRE, <br />MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 325 MCCARTY LANE; FOR AMENDING <br />THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT FROM "FD" <br />FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT; <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Narvaiz opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Ms. <br />Robertson moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />approved this Zoning request seven to zero. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for the adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 2.042 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE ORDER OF <br />BUSINESS FOR REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency, and Ms. <br />Couch seconded the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated the removal of City Council <br />direction on future agenda items, was a request from the Visioning <br />Workshop. He stated the Ministerial Alliance has requested that the City <br />Council add an invocation to the beginning of each meeting. The Alliance <br />will staff this, rotating among their various members, ensuring that the <br />invocation is open to all whom may wish to participate. Ms. Robertson <br />stated she wanted to make sure all faiths have equal access to providing <br />
