<br />(~11) Ensure that the maintenance, preservation, microfilming, destruction or other <br />disposition of the city is carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of <br />the record management program and the requirements of state law; <br /> <br />(4-J.12.) Maintain records on the volume of records destroyed under approved records <br />control schedules, the volume of records microfilmed and stored electronically, and the <br />estimated cost and space savings as the result of such disposal or disposition; <br /> <br />(1~) Report annually to the city council on the implementation of the records <br />management plan in each city department, including summaries of the statistical and <br />fiscal data compiled under subsection (13) of this section; and <br />(15) Bring to the attention of the city manager or city council noncompliance by <br />department heads or other city personnel '.^lith the policies and procedures of the <br />records management program of the Local Government Records ,4,ct. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.512. Same Implementation; destruction of records under schedule. <br /> <br />(a) Appropriate records control schedules issued bv the Texas State Librarv and <br />Archives Commission shall be adopted bv the records manaqement officer for use in <br />the city. as provided bv law. Anv destruction of records of the city will be in accordance <br />with these schedules and the Local Government Records Act. <br /> <br />(a Q) A records control schedule for a department which has been approved and <br />adopted under section 2.506, or 2.512(a). shall be implemented by department heads <br />and records liaison officers according to the policies and procedures of the records <br />management plan. <br /> <br />(b--~) A record whose retention period has expired on a records control schedule shall <br />be destroyed unless an open records request is pending on the record, the subject <br />matter of the record is pertinent to a pending law suit, or the department head requests <br />in writing to the records management committee that the record be retained for an <br />add itional period. <br /> <br />(S-Q) Prior to the destruction of a record under an approved records control schedule, <br />authorization for the destruction must be obtained by the records management officer <br />from the records management committee. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.513. Same Destruction of unscheduled records. <br /> <br />Sec. 2.515. Micrographics and electronic record retention proqrams. <br /> <br />Unless a micrographics or electronic retention program in a department is specifically <br />exempted by the city council, all microfilming or scanninq for electronic retention of <br />records will be centralized and under the direct supervision of the records management <br />officer. The records management plan will establish policies and procedures for the <br />microfilming or electronic retention of city records, including policies to ensure that all <br />
