The Sector Two Plan
acknowledges the city's existing policy commitment through the Horizons Master Plan to
plan for alternative modes of transportation, including bicycle and pedestrian routes.
Sidewalks
All new development within the city is required to include the installation of sidewalks
(except for single - family residential development at densities equal to or less than 1 home
per acre). In addition the city has an annual program for installing sidewalks in
neighborhoods without them. This plan identifies the following areas of existing
development as the highest priority areas for sidewalks:
• Craddock Avenue
• Ranch Road 12
• Franklin Drive
• Crockett Elementary School area (Girard, Perkins, Clyde)
• Others: Earle, Hazelton, Marlton, Allen
Finally, all future roadway and intersection improvements should include the addition of
sidewalks, crosswalks, and other pedestrian features in order to provide a safe and
efficient network for pedestrian traffic. Safe crossings of major streets are very important
to residents in Sector Two neighborhoods.
Adopted: July 23, 2001 3 -13
