Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 23, 2003 Page 5 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE CONVEYANCE OF A TRACT OF CITY PROPERTY IN THE 500 BLOCK <br />OF WONDER WORLD DRIVE TO THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR THE WONDER WORLD <br />DRIVE OVERPASS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />DONATION DEED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Narvaiz moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mr. Thomaides seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration reconsideration of a <br />Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. <br />The caption reads as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING LOT 2, BLOCK <br />14 OF THE SUNSET ACRES ADDITION LOCATED AT 427 PARKER DRIVE FROM nC" <br />COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO "R-l" SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT (LOW <br />DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration reconsideration of a <br />Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. <br />The caption reads as follows: <br /> <br />AM ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A 15.31 ACRE <br />TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1600 BLOCK OF POST ROAD AS ~MF-3" <br />MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT (HIGH DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS <br />AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second <br />reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 106.010 AND 106.074 OF THE CITY CODE TO REVISE CITY <br />REGULATIONS FOR NONCONFROMING SIGNS AND OFF-PREMISES SIGNS; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mr. Thomaides moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mr. Taylor seconded the motion. Mayor Habingreither stated there are <br />citizens who have signed up to speak. 1) Brad Scott stated he represents <br />Reagan National Advertising. He stated he supports the 1 to 1 replacement <br />program in the City and on the highways. He feels the highway needs to be <br />included so there will be an incentive to take signs down within the City. <br />2) Chris Stokes stated he represents Lamar Advertising. He stated he <br />supports the cap and replace program. He also stated he has submitted <br />recommended amendments for the Council to consider. 3) Gay Garringer <br />stated she is an attorney representing Gunnarson Outdoor Sign Company. <br />She stated she delivered some proposed amend/~[ents for the Council to <br />consider.
