<br /> .J'o <br /> - <br /> Attachment A to Contract for Engineering Services <br /> 3.8 Prepare and submit five copes total of a draft Land Application <br /> Implementation Plan report for review by Owner and CM. Meet with <br /> Owner and CM during a progress meeting and obtain comments on the <br /> draft report. Resolve any questions, revise documents if necessary, and <br /> submit ten copies total of the final report to Owner. <br /> Task 4.0 - Composting Pilot Trials <br /> 4.1 Assist Owner in making small quantities of Class A biosolids compost. <br /> This will be accomplished by creating a pilot windrow composting <br /> operation including securing an amendment source; identifying equip- <br /> ment needs for the pilot operation; developing procedures for making, <br /> curing, and screening compost; advising in constructing windrows and <br /> monitoring the composting process; assisting in identifying prospective <br /> end users of the finished compost; evaluating the success of the pilot <br /> composting program; and assessing the potential for implementing a full- <br /> scale composting operation. <br /> 4.2 Deterrnine the methods, equipment and facilities required for a full-scale <br /> composting operation, and prepare an opinion of probable construction <br /> cost. <br /> 4.3 Evaluate the feasibility of co-composting sludge tvith yard and wood <br /> waste at the landfill. <br /> 4.4 Identify multi-purpose equipment with potential for cost sharing, such as <br /> tub grinders. <br /> 4.5 Determine sludge processing requirements necessary to produce the <br /> quality of compost desired, such as screening. <br /> 4.6 Perform a market survey to evaluate the demand in the area for a <br /> composted sludge product.' <br /> 4.7 Perform and amendment survey to determine the quantity of amendment <br /> (e.g., wood chips) that are available for composting, as well as any <br /> amendment preprocessing required such as size reduction or drying. <br /> 4.8 Prepare and submit 10 copies of a report for review by Owner summar- <br /> izing the findings and conclusions of the pilot composting program and <br /> ancillary investigations, and providing recommendations concerning the <br /> feasibility of full-scale composting. <br /> Task 5.0 - Implement Land Application <br /> The purpose of this task will be to assist Owner in actually implementing the <br /> land application program as defined in Task 2.0 and to commence application <br /> of qualifying biosolids generated by the wastewater treahnent plant. <br /> A221BRPT.ATT CDM Camp Dresser & McKee A-6 <br />
