Regular Meeting June <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE <br />AND TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY - SAN <br />ARCHEOLOGICAL SERVICES TO THE CI' <br />EXECUTE THIS AMENDMENT ON BEHALF <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />5, 2007 Page 7 <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />MARCOS FOR ITS PROVISION OF <br />PY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br />Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Bose thanked Staff for the history lesson on this agenda item. <br />He inquired to the services they will be providing in this agreement. Mr. <br />O'Leary stated this is a contract with Texas State University to do <br />archeological studies for the Wonder World Drive Project, which means if <br />something is discovered Texas State University will handle the discovery. <br />Sabas Avila, Assistant Director of Engineer, stated this Resolution is a <br />requirement of the pass -thru toll agreement. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 16, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF A PIECE OF PERMANENT ARTWORK HONORING CHIEF <br />PLACIDO ON PUBLIC PROPERTY. <br />Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion. Rodney Cobb, Director of Parks and Recreation, stated this <br />Resolution is for the final approval for placement of the Chief Placido <br />memorial at the Fish Hatchery. He stated this is a new approval process <br />and this is the first piece of art to go through this process for permanent <br />art. Rodney Vanouderkerke, Chair of the Leadership San Marcos, stated <br />they are looking at the end of November for a dedication ceremony. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for adoption of Resolution. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 17, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THAT ARE ALLOCATED FOR PERMANENT <br />ART DISPLAY IN PUBLIC PLACES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion. Rodney Cobb stated a few years ago the Arts Commission proposed the <br />creation of a Sculpture Garden between the Activity Center and the Library. <br />He stated the Parks Department Staff took over the process and this <br />
