Regular Meeting June A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AND TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY - SAN ARCHEOLOGICAL SERVICES TO THE CI' EXECUTE THIS AMENDMENT ON BEHALF EFFECTIVE DATE. 5, 2007 Page 7 OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY MARCOS FOR ITS PROVISION OF PY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion. Mr. Bose thanked Staff for the history lesson on this agenda item. He inquired to the services they will be providing in this agreement. Mr. O'Leary stated this is a contract with Texas State University to do archeological studies for the Wonder World Drive Project, which means if something is discovered Texas State University will handle the discovery. Sabas Avila, Assistant Director of Engineer, stated this Resolution is a requirement of the pass -thru toll agreement. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 16, removed from the consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF A PIECE OF PERMANENT ARTWORK HONORING CHIEF PLACIDO ON PUBLIC PROPERTY. Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the motion. Rodney Cobb, Director of Parks and Recreation, stated this Resolution is for the final approval for placement of the Chief Placido memorial at the Fish Hatchery. He stated this is a new approval process and this is the first piece of art to go through this process for permanent art. Rodney Vanouderkerke, Chair of the Leadership San Marcos, stated they are looking at the end of November for a dedication ceremony. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of Resolution. Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 17, removed from the consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THAT ARE ALLOCATED FOR PERMANENT ART DISPLAY IN PUBLIC PLACES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
