The Council then voted unanimously <br />for adoption of the Resolution. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 26, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AWARDING A CONTRACT TO HOLT POWER SYSTEMS GENERATORS FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF GENERATORS FOR THE WATER /WASTEWATER UTILITIES DEPARTMENT THROUGH <br />THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT PURCHASING COOPERATIVE BUYBOARD; <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS <br />WITH THE STATE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of Resolution, and Ms. Robertson seconded <br />the motion. Mr. O'Leary stated these are generators for the pumps' backup <br />power, which currently we do not have and when electricity goes out, our <br />pumps are inoperable. He stated the funds being used for this were saved <br />up, so we could purchase them all at one time. Mr. Thomaides stated he <br />wants to point out that citizens often explain their displeasure with their <br />water bills, but he hopes the citizens keep in mind that our water bills <br />fund these type items. Mayor Narvaiz stated the City did what we were <br />supposed to do, while other cities to the south of us did not. The Council <br />then voted unanimously for adoption of Resolution. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 28, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THREE PARCELS OF LAND FOR RIGHT -OF -WAY <br />TOTALING 26.9703 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, IN CONNECTION WITH THE WONDER <br />WORLD DRIVE EXTENSION PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PURCHASE; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Mr. Guerrero seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 29, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />AUTHORIZING EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS TO ACQUIRE FROM MARION H. WILLS <br />AND FLORRIE WILLS A 12.8678 -ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE LYDIA <br />
