The group works well together. Most of the meeting <br /> was conducted by the staff liaison. Most of their discussion was <br /> on the use of the large meeting room. <br /> i Sunset recommendations: None <br /> l <br /> MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br /> Observation: This board was most active in promoting and <br /> sponsoring downtown activities that proved to be highly successful <br /> during the year. Staff written reports were presented in a very <br /> thorough and comprehensive manner along with minutes of the <br /> meetings. The atmosphere of the meeting was rather informal with <br /> a lot of open discussion on planning for scheduled events. This <br /> tone provided a comfortable setting for members to enjoy a very <br /> productive meeting. Board members possess a st;:nse of commitment <br /> to actively participate and support the planned downtown events. <br /> Workload for the manager's office appears to be very extensive <br /> with no clerical or secretarial support. . <br /> Sunset recommendation: The budget for the Main Street Manager's <br /> office be increased for the next fiscal year- to include a full <br /> time secretary or clerical position to support the extensive <br /> workload of this office. This action will provide more time for <br /> the manager to monitor and supervise the many activities that are <br /> programmed during the year. <br /> 1 for members serving on this board <br /> The meeting attendance records <br /> -'--- during the CY 94 reflected average. of sixty percent present; <br /> an <br /> therefore, it is recommended that the meeting schedule be changed <br /> or greater emphasis be directed on the importance of attendance at <br /> each meeting. The Main Street Advisory Board continues to be a <br /> very active board and provides a highly valuable service for the <br /> downtown area of San Marcos and the entire community. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD <br /> Observation: Written reports from the Parks and Recreation <br /> Department staff describing the sponsored activities for the <br /> months of November and December 1994 were mailed to board members <br /> with an agenda prior to meeting. This is a change from previous <br /> meeting in that staff presented verbal reports. <br /> Chairperson stated that goals/objectives for CY95 had been <br /> developed by the City Council and staff and were to be discussed <br /> during the next meeting in February. <br /> \ <br /> ~ <br />
