Jf) q8 <br /> " <br /> For Part B, evaluate the existing access road and develop the most <br /> acceptable approach for construction of the airport access road as <br /> follows: <br /> (a) Topoqraphic and Physical Features Survey- Survey topographic <br /> and physical features to define project limitations, grading <br /> and drainage requirements. <br /> (b) Geotechnical Testinq and Comprehensive Pavement Evaluation <br /> Conduct detailed physical pavement inventory and assessment, <br /> materials characteristics and properties, split tensile tests <br /> necessary to determine estimated flexural strength and <br /> develop alternatives to improve the pavement. <br /> (c) Preliminary Enqineerinq Report- Utilizing the geotechnical <br /> report, topographic and physical features surveys; establish <br /> the design criteria for the airport improvements specified in <br /> this Agreement, establish the required pavement strengths and <br /> design the pavement sections, define design parameters for <br /> all aspects of the airport, redefine the preliminary - cost <br /> estimates based on project scope, and define any additional <br /> requirements which would require Federal Aviation <br /> Administration (" FAA") approval prior to final design. <br /> 1.1.3 Based on information obtained by the CONSULTANT as specified <br /> in Paragraph 1.1.2, prepare preliminary drawings defining the limits of <br /> the proposed improvements and establish recommended improvements <br /> locations and dimensions, and appropriate specifications for the CITY's <br /> approval. i <br /> 1.1.4 Prepare a statement of the CONSULTANT's estimate of <br /> construction costs based upon the preliminary designs developed. The <br /> CONSULTANT's estimate of the construction cost will be based upon <br /> prices available at the time of preparation, without consideration of <br /> any inflationary increase in costs. <br /> 1.1.5 Review all invoices for surveying and geotechnical testing <br /> services and make recommendations to the CITY regarding their payment. <br /> 1.2 PART A AND PART B- PHASE 2 - FINAL ,DESIGN <br /> Based on the City's approval of the scope of work and the <br /> information obtained during Phase 1 for each of Part A and Part B of <br /> the Project, and upon receipt of the CITY's written authorization to <br /> implement Phase 2 for each of Part A and Part B of the Project, the <br /> CONSULTANT will: <br /> 1.2.1 Furnish to the CITY, as appropriate, the engineering data <br /> necessary for applications for routine permits required by local, <br /> State, and Federal authorities. <br /> 1.2.2 Prepare detailed final plans, specifications and contract <br /> documents for the Project, using the applicable bidding forms and <br /> contract documents furnished by the CITY. <br /> -3- <br />
