5. Invocation <br />Michael Higgins from Promiseland San Marcos provided the invocation. <br />6. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Council Member Scott led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />7. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Camille Phillips, Franklin Dr, addressed the Council regarding her fall prevention program and <br />would like to see a new program instituted where wireless doorbells are provided to people in <br />need to aide in case of an emergency like a fall in the home. <br />Jay Hiebert, 209 W. Sierra Circle, addressed the Council regarding the Retreat PDD referring <br />specifically to the traffic control measures put in place. He stated that he believed the Retreat <br />holdings folks to be sister developers to Dovetail which is the developer requesting the rezoning <br />for The Woodlands PDD on the Cape's property. <br />Jamey Breihan, 134 E. Hillcrest, addressed the Council regarding the Holland street project and <br />development in general in neighborhoods and in the watershed. He stated that he doesn't think <br />it's about the money; it's about their security on where people decide to build or buy homes. <br />Melissa Derrick, 109 Kathryn Cove, addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp, and the <br />merits of the 20 acres that Dovetail is wishing to dedicated to the City. She stated that she didn't <br />think it was a good deal and that the land shouldn't be built upon. She referenced the sale of the <br />Leah Tract. She stated that she supports eminent domain in this case. <br />Erin Wall, 955 Sycamore, addressed the Council regarding the petition that they have submitted <br />and is asking to allow the art car back. <br />Jennifer Jensen, 203 Oakridge Dr, not present. <br />Dianne Wassenich, 11 Tanglewood, addressed the Council regarding Capes Camp and <br />development going on that piece of property. She stated that she hoped that the Council would <br />choose to preserve this piece of property, and that there are several grant programs that could <br />help pay for this property. <br />Kate McCarty, 621 W. San Antonio, addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp and asked <br />that Council to please protect this piece of property. <br />Don Eyssen, 200 Orchard, addressed the Council regarding the Mission Statement of the City <br />from 2004 and then read the latest Mission Statement which excludes promoting neighborhoods. <br />He also addressed the fact that the Sessom's project "Local contractors" are within a 500 mile <br />radius. He asked them to look at Boulder, CO and Portland, OR. <br />
