<br /> r:1-' V I <br /> -23- <br /> Notwithstanding the exceptions stated above, no <br /> electrical work subject to this Article shall be performed <br /> at any site unless one licensed master or journeyman is <br /> present while the work is being performed. <br /> Sec. 5-152. Qualifications for a license. <br /> (a) Master Electrician- Persons applying for a master <br /> electrician's license shall have five years experience as a <br /> licensed journeyman working as an electrician under the <br /> direct supervision of a master electrician, or equivalent <br /> verifiable experience, or two years experience as a master <br /> electrician, or equivalent. <br /> (b) Journevman Electrician- Persons applying for a <br /> journeyman electrician's license shall have four years <br /> experience as a licensed apprentice, shall hold a journeyman <br /> license in another jurisdiction, or shall have reasonable <br /> evidence of competency at the journeyman level. <br /> (c) Maintenance Electrician- Persons applying shall be <br /> interviewed by the electrical board and licenses shall be <br /> issued according to criteria approved and published by the <br /> board for all maintenance electricians. ~ <br /> (d) Apprentice Electricians- Persons applying for an <br /> apprentice electrician's license shall be at least sixteen <br /> years old. <br /> Sec. 5-153. Application for examination. <br /> (a) Application for examination shall be made on a form <br /> furnished by the electrical inspector. The application <br /> shall specify the applicant\s experience and shall state <br /> whether the applicant has ever been licensed as an <br /> electrician, and if' so, when and by what jurisdiction; <br /> whether a license held by the applicant has ever been <br /> suspended or revoked, and whether the applicant has ever <br /> been refused a license, and if so, the date of and the <br /> reason for suspension, revocation or refusal. <br /> (b) The building official will review each application to <br /> determine whether the applicant meets the qualifications <br /> described in Section 5-152 above for the type of license <br /> applied for, to be eligible for examination. An applicant <br /> who is denied eligibility by the building official may <br /> submit a written appeal to the electrical board. The board <br /> will hold a hearing and will make a final decision on the <br /> applicant's eligibility. <br /> (c) An examination shall be given the applicant at the <br /> next regular scheduled testing date. Tests shall be offered <br /> not less than four (4) times per year. A passing grade of <br /> 70 percent shall be required. If an applicant is <br /> unsuccessful in a second examination attempt, the applicant <br /> shall not be re-examined for a period of one year from the <br /> date of the second testing. In no event will an applicant <br /> be tested more than two times in any 12-month period. <br /> Sec. 5-154. Examination for licensing. <br /> (a) The electrical board shall prepare an examination for <br /> master electricians consisting of not less than 100 <br /> questions designed to determine the qualifications of <br /> applicants to supervise, direct and control persons holding <br /> journeyman and apprentice electrician's licenses in the safe <br /> installation of electrical work covered by this Article. <br /> The test shall examine the ability of applicants to research <br /> and arrive at correct answers to normal questions that occur <br />
