All <br />structures constructed in accordance with this appendix <br />shall meet the height and area requirements for Group R-3 <br />occupancies in Table 400 of the standard Building Code. <br />C102 Amendments to CABO Code <br />The 1992 edition of the CABO One and Two Family Dwelling <br />Code is amended as follows: <br />P-2207.7 Dry Vent sizinq is amended by removing the <br />sentence that precedes Table No. P-2207.7 and reads: <br />"Alternately, vents may be sized using the engineered <br />method presented in Appendix D." <br />Part VI- Electrical- is amended so that electrical <br />requirements shall conform to NFiPA 70A, Section s- <br />26.6000, as adopted and amended by Chapter 5 of the <br />San Marcos Code of Ordinances. <br />E101.2 is amended to read as follows: <br />E101.2 All buildings, except those listed~below, shall be <br />designed and constructed in accordance with the 1992 <br />Edition of the CABO Model Energy Code, which is adopted <br />herein by reference. <br />EXCEPTIONS: <br />(1) Buildings and structures, or portions thereof, <br />which are neither heated nor cooled. <br />(2) Buildings and structures, or portions thereof, <br />whose peak design rate of energy usage is less than 1 <br />watt per square foot or 3.44 Btu per square foot of floor <br />area for all purposes. <br />E101.3 is added to read as follows: <br />E101.3 The following provisions of the CABO Model Energy <br />Code adopted in El01.2 are amended to read as follows: <br />502.2.1.1 Walls: A residential building as herein <br />defined that is heated or mechanically cooled shall <br />have a combined thermal transmittance value (Uo) of <br />the gross area of exterior walls not exceeding the <br />value given in Table No. 502.2.1. Equation 1 shall be <br />used to determine acceptable combinations to meet this <br />requirement. The minimum "R" rating of insulation <br />installed ih exterior walls shall be "R-11". <br />502.2.1.2 Roof/Ceilinq: A building that is heated <br />and/or mechanically cooled shall have a combined <br />thermal transmittance value (UO) for the gross area of <br />the roof assembly not exceeding the value given in <br />Table No. 502.2.1. Equation 2 shall be used to <br />determine acceptable combinations to meet this <br />requirement. The minimum "R" rating of insulation <br />installed in open attics, knee walls and concealed <br />areas of vaulted ceilings shall be "R-19". <br />504.2.2 Water heaters, storaqe tanks and boilers: <br />Heat loss from unfired hot-water storage tanks shall <br />be limited to a maximum of 13.6 Btu/h/sq.ft. of <br />external tank surface area. The design ambient <br />temperature shall be no higher than 65 degrees F. <br />Piping installed as part of the service water heating <br />distribution system, from the outlet side of water <br />heating units to be within six inches of individual <br />
