Veramendi Survey No. 2, Abstract No. 17, commonly referred to as Capes Camp <br />and Thompsons Island located on River Road between IH -35 and Cape Road and north <br />of the San Marcos River; amending the Future Land Use Map of the City by changing <br />the land use designation to Medium Density Residential for a 4.2 acre, more or less, <br />portion of said tract currently designated Commercial and for a 5.64 acre, more or less, <br />portion of said tract currently designated Very Low Density Residential; amending he <br />Official Zoning Map of the City by changing the zoning to Planned Development <br />District with base zoning of MF -12 Multiple - Family Residential District for a 28.15 acre, <br />more or less, portion of said tract currently zoned FD Future Development District, a <br />0.651 acre, more or less, portion of said tract currently zoned CCD Community <br />Commercial District and the remainder of said tract; approving Planned Development <br />District Standards for the District; including procedural provisions; and providing for <br />penalties; and consider approval of Ordinance 2013 -03, <br />Matthew Lewis, Director of Development Services, provided a staff presentation. <br />Mayor Daniel Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at 7:18 p.m. <br />Sam Montoya, 208 Laredo St, addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp rezoning project <br />specifically the negative impacts on the Juarez Neighborhood Residents and the increased traffic <br />that would be caused by the building this apartment complex. He asked that they not approve it. <br />Jay Hiebert, 209 W. Sierra Circle, addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp rezoning <br />project and the past flooding in the area in 1998 and asked that Council not approve this project. <br />Patrick Montgomery, 708 Valley St, addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp rezoning <br />project and asked that the Council not approve this project. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, 1322 Belvin St., addressed the Council regarding Cape's Camp rezoning <br />project and asked that the Council not approve this project. <br />
