<br /> 1.2.1 Attend conferences with the CITY and other interested parties <br /> regarding the Project and prepare and distribute copies of conference <br /> and meeting records to the CITY and the FAA. <br /> 1.2.2 Conduct a pavement evaluation as follows: <br /> (a) Establish a survey baseline for design and construction <br /> control of horizontal and vertical dimensions. <br /> (b) Prepare and conduct field and laboratory pavement sampling <br /> and testing. <br /> (c) Conduct an extensive visual inspection of slabs, joints and <br /> seals to determine extent of delineation, cracking and <br /> surface or structural failure. <br /> Data acqquired from this evaluation shall be reviewed by the CONSULTANT <br /> in order to determine the feasibility and life cycle cost efficiency of <br /> various pavement rehabilitation options. <br /> 1.2.3 Based on information obtained as specified in Paragraph 1.2.3 <br /> the CONSULTANT shall develop a preliminary design for proposed <br /> improvements of the Project with sketches necessary to describe the <br /> proposed improvements in their approximate locations for the CITY's <br /> approval. <br /> 1.2.4 Prepare a statement of the CONSÚLTANT's estimate of construction <br /> costs based upon the preliminary designs developed. The CONSULTANT's <br /> estimate of the construction cost will be based upon prices available <br /> at the time of preparation, without consideration of any inflationary <br /> increase in costs. The CONSULTANT will not be required to guarantee <br /> the accuracy of the estimates that are based on the preliminary design. <br /> l.2.5 Establish the scope of needed land field survey information; and <br /> when authorized by the CITY, arrange for such work to be done for the <br /> CITY's account. The CONSULTANT shall review all invoices for these <br /> services and make recommendations to the CITY regarding their payment. <br /> 1.2.6 Establish the scope of needed geotechnical soil and foundations <br /> investigation; and, when authorized by the CITY, arrange for this work <br /> to be done for the CITY's account. The CONSULTANT shall review all <br /> invoices for these services and make recommendations to CITY regarding <br /> their PAYMENT. <br /> 1.3 PHASE 2 - DESIGN <br /> Based on information obatined during Phase 1 and upon receipt of <br /> the CITY's written authorization to implement Phase 2 and to proceed <br /> -3- <br />
