(a) A personal visit by the Contractor's representative to each residential unit to deliver a recycling container, accompanied by the distribution of printed educational materials to inform customers of the types of materials that will be collected, ideas on how to place materials in recycling containers and their designated recycling day¡ (b) provision of employee(s) to educate the San Marcos community about recycling through the following: (1) At least ten (10) public speaking engagements in public and civic group meetings, during each year of this Contract¡ and (2) The conduct of an educational program including the distribution of printed materials for each student at each elementary and intermediate school within San Marcos at least once during each year of this Contract¡ and (c) The use of the local media to disseminate educational information at least~ once a month during the term of this Contract, through press releases, paid advertising, and/or public service announcements on radio and cable television. 2.04. Reports. The Contractor will provide the City with a quarterly report explaining the progress of the recycling program in the San Marcos community in narrative form, including a surmnary of educational activities conducted by the Contractor, and an accounting for all recyclable materials collected, broken down by Commodity and stating revenue amounts for marketing of each Commodity. The Contractor shall also provide the City with a monthly report of pickups by number and frequency. In addition, the following information shall be made available by the Contractor to the City upon request: (a) Route and schedule information. (b) Number, nature and disposition of complaints. 3.00 TYPE OF COLLECTION 3.01 Service Provided - Contractor shall provide curbside collection service for the collection of Recyclable 18572 - 6 -
