<br /> § 15 APPENDIX F-DRAINAGE, EROSION CONTROL §16 <br /> following geological formations: Comanche Peak, Edwards, Kiamichi <br /> and Georgetown. <br /> (4) Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone: The boundaries of the <br /> recharge zone shall encompass all land over the Edwards Aquifer <br /> recharging the same, as determined by the Texas Department of <br /> Water Resources. <br /> (5) Engineer: A person duly authorized under the provisions of <br /> the Texas Engineering Registration Act, as heretofore or hereaf- <br /> ter amended, to practice the profession of engineering. <br /> (6) Impervious cover: Covering of the land surface by such a <br /> means that would prevent penetration or percolation by water; <br /> including but not limited to all private streets and pavement, <br /> sidewalks, driveways and construction with impermeable foun- <br /> dations within the land, tract, parcel or lot. Public streets are not <br /> considered impervious cover. If a building is constructed'on col- <br /> umns that force stormwater to permeate into the soil under the <br /> structure, it shall not be considered impermeable. Some materi- <br /> als are more impervious than others, and the rate of runoff and <br /> percentage of permeability will be as determined in Appendix 1. <br /> Swales and other conveyances for overland drainage shall not be <br /> calculated as impervious cover. <br /> (7) Overland flow: Stormwater runoff that is not confined by <br /> any natural or man-made channel, including but not limited to <br /> creeks, drainage ditches and storm sewers. <br /> (8) Per cent impervious cover: Area of impervious cover within <br /> a lot, tract or parcel as determined in Appendix 1 divided by the <br /> total area within the perimeter of the lot, tract or parcel. <br /> (9) Steep slope: A slope of fifteen (15) per cent or greater. <br /> (10) Trees: Any self-supporting woody plant species which nor- <br /> mally grows to overall minimum caliper of three (3) inches. <br /> (11) Underbrush: Low growing vegetation, brush and trees with <br /> a caliper less than three (3) inches. <br /> (Ord.
