<br /> 3.2.2 Inspect and evaluate existing facilities, and gather <br /> and review existing data. <br /> 3.2.3 Develop a preliminary design for proposed improvements <br /> of the PROJECT with sketches necessary to describe the proposed <br /> improvements in their approximate locations for the OWNER's <br /> approval. <br /> 3.2.4 Prepare a statement of the CONSULTANT's estimate of <br /> construction costs based upon the preliminary designs developed. <br /> The CONSULTANT's estimate of the construction cost will be based <br /> upon prices available at the time of preparation, without <br /> consideration of any inflationary increase in costs. The <br /> CONSULTANT will not be required to guarantee the accuracy of the <br /> estimates that are based on the preliminary design. <br /> 3.2.5 Establish the scope of needed land field survey <br /> information; and when authorized by the OWNER, to arrange for <br /> such work to be done for the OWNER's account. The CONSULTANT <br /> shall review all invoices for these services and make <br /> recommendations to the OWNER regarding their payment. <br /> 3.2.6 Establish the scope of needed geotechnical soil and <br /> foundations investigation; and, when authorized by the OWNER, to <br /> arrange for this work to be done for the OWNER's account. The <br /> CONSULTANT shall review all invoices for these services and make <br /> recommendations to OWNER regarding their PAYMENT. <br /> 3.2.7 Prepare and distribute copies of conference and <br /> meeting records to the OWNER and the FAA. <br /> 3.3 PHASE 2 - DESIGN <br /> Upon receipt of the OWNER's written authorization to <br /> implement Phase 2 and to proceed with final design and preparation <br /> of contract drawings and specifications, the CONSULTANT shall: <br /> 3.3.1 Furnish to the OWNER, where required by the <br /> circumstances of the assignment, the engineering data necessary <br /> for applications for routine permits required by local, state, and <br /> Federal authorities. <br /> 3.3.2 Prepare detailed contract drawings on drafting vellum <br /> or mylar film, and/or photographic reproducible mylar film, and <br /> prepare the specifications and contract documents for construction <br /> of the PROJECT, using any applicable documents furnished by the <br /> OWNER. <br /> 3.3.3 Whenever preparation of detailed plans is <br /> approximately 60% complete, the CONSULTANT shall: <br /> -3- <br />
