<br /> -2- <br /> 7. Waste (13) of water is prohibited. <br /> 8. Washing of impervious surface areas (14) is prohibited <br /> except for immediate human health and safety concerns. <br /> 9. Washing of mobile equipment, including automobiles and <br /> boats, is prohibited except on designated days (6) and <br /> with hand-held hose (4) or bucket(5). <br /> 10. The escape of agricultural irrigation (18) tailwater is <br /> prohibited, and agricultural irrigation water loss through <br /> percolation in transmission canals is prohibited. <br /> 11. Restaurants are permitted to serve water only upon <br /> customer request. <br /> FOOTNOTES <br /> (1) "Landscape \'Jatering" means the application of water to grow <br /> landscaping plants. <br /> ( 2) "Landscaping plant" me an s any plant including any tree, shrub, <br /> vine, herb, flower, succulent, groundcover or grass species, that <br /> is used for landscaping purposes or for the support of intensive <br /> recreational areas such as playgrounds and playing fields. <br /> ( 3) ItNew landscaping plant" means a landscaping plant planted during <br /> the current water conservation plan stage. When the stage is <br /> rescinded, such new landscaping plant will be treated thereafter <br /> as an existing landscaping plant. <br /> ( 4) "Hand-held hose" means a hose attended by one person, fitted with <br /> a manual or automatic shutoff nojlzle. <br /> ( 5) "Bucket" means bucket or other container holding five gallons or <br /> less, used singly by one person. <br /> ( 6) ~vhere a water use restriction calls for use only once every seven <br /> (7) days, or only on designated days, the following system shall <br /> apply to determine the day within each calendar week that the use <br /> is permitted: <br /> Buildings and premises with even-numbered addresses- Tuesdays <br /> only beginning at 8:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. <br /> Buildings and premises with odd-numbered addresses- Thursdays <br /> only beginning at 8:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 a.m. Friday. <br /> (7) ItExisting landscaping plant" means a landscaping plant planted <br /> during any pe riod for which a water conservation plan stage has <br /> not been declared or during a stage which has been rescinded. <br /> ( 8) "New facility" means a swimming pool, hot tub or any similar <br /> facility, including residential, and private facilities, installed <br /> during any current water conservation plan stage. When the stage <br /> is rescinded, such new facility will be treated thereafter as an <br /> existing faclity. This term does not include pools specifically <br /> maintained to provide habitat for aquatic life. <br /> ( 9) "Existing facility" means a swimming pool, hot tub or any similar <br /> facility, including residential and private facilities, installed <br /> during any period for which water conservation plan stage has not <br /> been declared or during a stage which has been rescinded. This <br /> term does not include pools specifically maintained to provide <br /> habitat for aquatic life. <br /> (10) "Vegetable garden" means any non-commercial garden planted <br /> primarily for household use. For this use 11non-commercial" <br /> includes incidental direct selling of produce from such a <br /> vegetable garden to the public. <br />
