<br /> 1"72 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 11 <br /> RESTROOM BUILDINGS <br /> (13) Covering and Insulation: <br /> (a) All water piping, except that exposed under <br /> fixtures and under the slab shall be covered with 3/4" <br /> Owens-Corning or approved equal, molded glass fiber insulation with <br /> factory applied glass cloth jacket well pasted down. All fittings, <br /> except unions, shall be built up with OC-110 insulation cement to <br /> the thickness of the adjacent insulation and finished as adjacent <br /> insulation. <br /> (14) Testing and Adjusting: <br /> (a) Perform all tests required by codes and <br /> regulations governing the work in the presence of the Engineer and <br /> to his complete satisfaction. All tests shall be held for a period <br /> of time as specified or suitable to the Engineer, but in no case <br /> shall it be less than one hour. <br /> (b) The plumbing Contractor shall furnish all <br /> equipment required for making tests and shall be responsible for <br /> any damage to building or fixtures during tests. <br /> (c) Leaks and defective material shall be repaired <br /> and/or removed as required, and tests repeated until systems are <br /> found to be tight. <br /> (d) After all vertical interior cast iron sewer, <br /> waste and vent lines have been set, all the outlets shall be <br /> temporarily plugged. The pipes shall be filled with water and <br /> allowed to remain 80 for 24 hours. The system may be tested in <br /> section8 with not le8s than 10-foot head on any section. <br /> (e) A final te8t shall be made after all vertical <br /> and horizontal ca8t iron sewer, waste and vent pipes have been <br /> installed and the fixtures roughed in and before the sewer <br /> connection is made. In this case, as before, all pipes shall be <br /> filled and allowed to remain so for 24 hours. <br /> (f) All interior water lines shall be given a 125 <br /> psi hydrostatic test. Test on insulated lines shall be made before <br /> application of insulation. <br /> (g) All flush valves, flow controls and other <br /> controls shall be adjusted and shall function properly before final <br /> acceptance of the job. <br /> 11-24 <br />
